Freshfarm enterprises ltd is a zambian private limited company located on the copperbelt of Zambia. It started due to the demand by cassava, sweet potato, pine apples and honey producers lacking access to good markets. It was noted that their products though produced in abandance has no ready market for industrial use because the agro industry in Zambia is not thriving. To this end, this company was incoporated to fill in this gap and since its inception, it has opened up markets locally into the local hospitality industry. Currently the company is selling pure natural honey to top class class hotels in Zambia. We also sell unprocessed cassava and sweet potato tubers to local milling companies who process them for ready use by manufacturing companies. Our natural pine apple fruit juice is a hot product in local hotels and other industries that produce concentrated fruit juices.

The company has 3 investors who are the only shareholders. It employs 8 full time staff and 15 casual lobour force on a weekly basis. It buys the cassava and sweet potato tubers from peasant farmers who produce them for home use firstly. The company has invested in teaching the producers on the quality characters demanded by the current buyers.

The zambian cassava and sweet potatoes have extremely high quality features such as high starch level in excess of 72% on dry matter basis, less than 12.5% moisture and has no toxic substances. The planting materials used are none genetically modified and no chemical fertilizers are used. The quality parameters are tested by the university of zambia's school of natural sciences in the department of chemistry.

We have the capacity to export high quality cassava - 7000 ton per month, sweet potatoes - 4000 ton per month, natural honey - 2000 ltr per month and pine apple juice - 10000 ltr per month.

Our company uses simple equipment adapted to our environment for processing to end products. Most of the equipment we use is manually driven as the processing materials are found in outlying areas of Zambia with no electrict. It becomes cheaper to process on farm rather than collecting the bulky product.

We have what it takes to manage this company as it has employed high trained and experienced food processing specialist and human resources manager. Our marketing manager is versetile and dynamic breaking new grounds each time.

In Zambia we are second to none in the processing and trading of cassava and sweet potatoes. We are gaining more grounds and experience in honey and pine apple processing.
